nVidia nForce4 Chipsets were like every thing else in this industry, before the hardware and protocol specifications were completed. The rest I have figured out running test on my computers for MSI Support on pre-beta BIOS and RAID Drivers. However, this is my best guess at what is going on behind the scenes.

It seems to be a combination of nForce4 and the BIOS used. I personally have no problems with SATA I but cannot use a SATA II except from another SATA I drive to boot from or Also, install the RAID drivers even if you're not going to use them. IIRC, I had to install 2 drivers during F6; the SATA and the RAID.

I also think there is a reasonable argument that they have not provided a RAID-ready computer which is what I paid for. Mitch I had a similar problem but with my NForce4 Motherboard machine. It would not recognise the floppy to load the RAID drivers at Windows install time. My solution was to create a new Windows
